B.C (settler name – non indigenous) wide trans collective that is open to ALL within the B.C trans community – providing you abide by anti oppression policy & ideals.

We acknowledge that Canada is a illegal colony of England/UK (the crown). We recognize and stand in solidarity with the indigenous peoples of this continent known as Turtle Island (North America) (in particular – Canada). That even the border between the USA and Canada is illegal and arbitrary to the indigenous peoples that have been here for thousands of years.

The B.C Trans Collective’s mission and policy is founded in anti-oppression collective principals. We do not support gate keeping, power elites, exclusion, gender camps, classism, racism, surgery status oppression, appearance elitism,  etc, or oppression in all its forms as our (Canadian) society is mostly founded upon. Educate yourself about anti-oppression policy/ideals. We expect you too in order to maintain some peace. unity and harmony within the collective.

How you identify is your/our power.
No one here shall oppress you for how you identify.
Self identification and empowerment is part of the foundation of anti-oppression ideals/policy.

There is far too much dysfunction and power games within the trans community.
Many believe this to be because of our marginalization within society as a whole.
Gatekeepers/power-control freaks/gender camps/FtM, MtF, gender binary & policing, surgery status or non surgery, sexual orientation, gender ID, relationship exploration/beliefs. (non monogamy, etc) This space welcomes ALL in the trans community regardless.

This is not a dating space. (plenty of those spaces online)
Yes trans people date other trans people.(and outside our community) Yes, sexual experiences are welcomed. However, this space is for advocacy and political activism – primarily. We need to keep this a safe space for all. Relationship difficulties happen and communicating these issues “online” can be very problematic. Especially if both are in this group. Or more than 2. (Yes, there are relationships other than monogamy)

You are a collective member of this group when you say you are. No fees or things to sign. Only requirement to work together, is an understanding of anti-oppression ideals/policy for the betterment of ALL in the B.C trans community.
That and keeping the information shared here private and within the group. Please understand that and keep what is shared here within the group. Especially very personal information. No exceptions! (see basic rules below – they are non negotiable)

Basic rules:
Anti oppression foundation and understanding. (we expect you to learn it)
Group information (like who & what is shared) other than our principals, web address & email shall not be shared outside the group.
Personal attacks are not ok. We all disagree. Keep the communication civil, as best as possible. The moderators/admins will keep the peace within an anti oppressive framework and you will be given a warning. If you do not agree with the warning you can seek redress with the whole group after the issues have cooled – 48 hours. If you continue – you can be removed. Where the group can decide on whether to have you re-join. (each circumstance is up to the group – because the issues can vary widely)
